Annual Meeting in March
As a reminder to the community, the Little River Mews Annual Meeting is on Tuesday, March 4th at 7:30 p.m. at The Mason District Government Center. Registration starts at 7:00 p.m. The address is: 6507 Columbia Pike in Annandale. Northern Virginia Management, our management company, has arranged for the community members to meet in the Large Conference Room.
In order for the meeting to take place, the community needs a quorum of households to be represented either in person or by proxy. You can give your proxy to any board member if you choose not to attend the meeting.
There are two (2) positions on the board that will need to be filled. If you are current on your dues, and you are an owner of a townhouse in the community, you are eligible to run for board membership. Please consider serving your community by becoming a board member.
Snow, Snow, and More Snow
As everyone knows, this has been a snowy winter for the DC area. Bladerunners has done a pretty good job at keeping the community free of snow and ice. However, there have been some problems with ice on the back-side of the community. Bladerunners has been made aware of the problem. Unfortunately, with all the snow and ice this winter, there has been a shortage of salt. Hopefully there will be some melting this week since we are expecting above freezing temperatures.
Parking
It has become apparent that parking is again becoming tight. Each townhouse may have a combination of 3 parking spaces. These are issued either by having 3 parking stickers, 2 parking stickers and a guest pass, or 1 parking sticker and 2 guest passes. Under no circumstances is any townhouse unit entitled to more than 3 registered vehicles within the community. If you have questions please contact Julie Elkins at 4511.
Another issue that has become apparent is people parking in the middle of the road (usually at night). Be considerate of your neighbors, and park in a parking spot. Parking in the road, even if it’s for a minute or two, blocks others from backing out of their own parking space. Keep in mind that the LRMHOA Board is authorized to have your vehicle towed if you are parked in the middle of the road, or in any fire lane, potentially resulting in an expensive and inconvenient tow.
Crime Prevention
Please keep your front light on at night. This helps deter crime, and lights up the community. Also, there have been reports of car break-ins in the surrounding area, including in Little River Mews. It’s a good idea to remove all valuables and keep vehicles locked up at all times.
Garbage
Please put your garbage out only on the evening before garbage day (Monday and Thursday), or the morning of garbage collection. We ask that you use garbage cans and do not use grocery bags as animals can get into them strewing trash and garbage throughout the neighborhood.
On days of inclement weather, garbage may not be collected. American Disposal normally posts updates on their website, which can be found at AmericanDisposal.com.
Changes to Property
If you plan to make any changes to your house or yard, please check with the LRMHOA Board or Northern Virginia Management before proceeding. Little River Mews has architectural guidelines that must be followed. It is in the best interest of everyone in the neighborhood if we obey these rules.
