Waste Management
This year trash pick-up has frequently been very early in the morning, so make sure that you put your cans out in time for collection. If your trash is not collected because you missed pick-up (or for any other reason), please do not leave it on the side of the curb. All cans and trash must be stowed until the next scheduled collection. Trash bags that are not in cans should not be put out overnight because animals can get into them creating a health hazard and mess in the community. DO NOT USE GROCERY BAGS FOR YOUR GARBAGE.
Pet Cleanup: Please do your part and promptly clean up any pet waste from your yard and common areas.
Charitable Donations: Instead of sending good-quality used items to the county landfill, consider donating your unwanted furniture, books, toys and clothing to a charity. AMVETS is a local organization that regularly sends trucks to our area. You can schedule a pickup by visiting www.amvetspickup.org/pickup.php. Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army can also take your donated items. It helps people in need and it’s good for the environment!
Children at Play
Children are a part of Little River Mews community. Be aware of them, especially when you are driving on Little River Run Dr. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. The speed limit for Little River Run Dr. is 15 MPH.
Parents, do your part in making sure that your children do not play in the street — it is not a playground. You have a responsibility not only to your children, but to the community as a whole. Please keep them safe, and have them play on the sidewalks or in the yards.
Outdoor Lighting
We ask that you keep your front and back outside lights on in the evening and at night. Most burglaries happen in the summer months. One way of making your home less of a target is to keep the lights on.
Towing
It is each owner’s responsibility to have a current Little River Mews parking sticker on their vehicle. Any guests need to display a green and white guest hang tag on the rear view mirror of their vehicle. Guest tags may not be used for any purpose after seven consecutive days. Lost guest hang tags can be replaced at a cost of $25 to the owner. Long-term parking permits are available on an as-needed basis. When a long-term parking permit is given, the owner has to turn over his/her regular guest pass for the period of time that they will need the long-term parking pass. Contact Julie Elkins (4511) if you need a parking pass, guest hang tag or a long-term parking permit.
Any vehicle that does not have the current sticker, guest hang tag, or long-term parking permit is subject to being towed. The Little River Mews parking sticker is to be placed on the left side rear bumper of your vehicle. Dominion Towing patrols the parking area regularly. If you are towed, contact Dominion Towing. Their phone number is 703-730-1177. If you forget the number, or lose this newsletter, look on the signs posted within the development for their phone number.
Northern Virginia Management
If you need to contact Northern Virginia Management for any reason, their email address is [email protected]. The phone number is 703-941-9002.
Thank you and have a great summer!
